Chelsea flexes muscles in emphatic win over Stoke City

Chelsea blasted Stoke City off the park at the Bridge today with an emphatic 5-0 victory against a hapless Stoke City. Barely have we settled in when up popped Rudiger and headed in a sublime freekick from Willian in the third minute of the match. Chelsea was buzzing, the nerves at the Bridge settled and it was the start of things to come.


Danny Drinkwater received the ball from Willian and with all the time in the world he blasted a volley past a hapless Butland. with 2-0 up Chelsea was playing their best football of the season. Morata should have had two goals on either side of Drinkwater’s strike, but Butland was at his best. Pedro also had a shot blocked by Butland before he got a great ball from Willian and he shot the ball across the goal beating the keeper. Within 30 minutes of the match, Chelsea was 3-0 up and cruising.


Stoke City did have the ball in the net in the 38th minute but Diouf was deemed to have handled the ball before beating Courtois. It summed up their match so far.


In the second half, Willian scored form the penalty spot in the 73rd minute and 4-0 to Chelsea. It has been a stroll in the park today and loads of energy has been saved for the upcoming match against Arsenal on 3 January 2018. Davide Zappacosta scored in the 88th minute of the match to make it 5-0.
