Chelsea hopes to put pressure on Spurs at Arsenal tonight

Chelsea knows winning tonight at the Emirates Stadium against Arsenal will put some distance between them and keep up the pressure on a Harry Kane-less Spurs for the third spot.

At yesterday’s press conference Sarri indicated that “one has to kill the match and then manage the match”, something Chelsea have had some difficulty in the past. In most of our matches, we should have won easily yet taking our feet off the pedal has allowed lesser teams to beat us or scare us. At the same fixture earlier this season Chelsea carved open Arsenal at the Bridge only to allow two simple goals and with it, we looked vulnerable and beatable. It was only a last gasp goal by Alonso that clinched the match on our favour 3-2.

The team tactics must change tonight as we did against Manchester City. We have to come out with intent, with “woema” and with “gees” or we might find a resurgent Gooners coming at us. Will Sarri start with Hazard as a false nine again, or will Morata or Giroud start up front with Willian/Hazard or Hudson-Odoi? Will Kante play closer to Jorginho or further up front supporting Hudson-Odoi?

chelseatogetherChelsea Supporters Club South Africa (CSCSA) is in full support of the #ChelseaTogether global campaign against racism and intolerance at our matches, at our supporters clubs and venues where we watch our matches. An official tweet from @ChelseaFC praised the initiative and said: “We wholeheartedly welcome the #ChelseaTogether initiative from Chelsea supporters which is further evidence that the vast majority of Chelsea fans want to see all forms of discrimination kicked out of the game, wherever they may occur.”
