Chelsea out to tame Wolves

A win is a must for Chelsea this Saturday against a winless Wolverhampton (Wolves) side. All indications are that a win is a must to set the tone for the next couple of weeks as we seek to claw our way up the log. Chelsea has been playing attractive football under Lampard but their achilles heel has been their defence. This needs to be sorted out in time before the Champions League season starts. Chelsea is currently seven-point behind log-leaders, Liverpool, and in 11th place.

Tonight (Friday) we will see some action from Reece James and Callum Hudon-Odoi for our development team side against Brighton in a Premier League 2 match at the Bridge. This would be a welcome sigh of relief for the Chelsea faithful as we need reinforcements down the right flanks and defensive cover for our captain Azpilicueta. Later this afternoon we will get an update from Lampard on the perceived hamstring injury of Emerson and if he will be ready to play on Saturday. If not, we do have Alonso to come in. We will also hear updates on Pedro, Kante, Christensen and Rudiger.

Alonso scores
