Pre-season news for Chelsea Fans in South Africa

Whilst most of us are happy that our former manager left the building and our all-time goal-scoring, swashbuckling former midfield maestro Frank Lampard has been appointed as the new manager – all should be well for the coming season. While it is still early days with two matches played against Irish opposition in Ireland with a draw and a win, the feel-good factor has returned to the team as mentioned by various senior and junior team members of the current squad. We wish them well in Japan and in Germany later this month. Onward and upward!

IMG_2633Other exciting news is that Chelsea as a Football club has recognised the efforts of all supporters club globally and have introduced a new way for supporters to experience games at the Bridge through opening up membership to the club via their website and The 5th Stand App. As the executive of the Chelsea Supporters Club South Africa (CSCSA) we are encouraging all of you to register on the App by becoming a Chelsea Fan Club members, whereupon you can find the South Africa supporters page. This can only be done via the App. You will find there are several other supporters clubs from South Africa (Cape Town, Pretoria, Rustenberg, and Durban) registered – you need to choose the South Africa one! Our official club chairperson, Matt Kretzmer will be sending out an email to all known Chelsea members explaining this process. For additional information of this process, you can check out this link: (

Separate to this initiative, we are also once again asking our loyal club members to once again complete forms as per every year and stand a chance to win excellent prizes. The forms (online) will be made available just before the start of the 2019/2020 season. Membership will now be deemed a ‘raffle’ and will be charged at R50 that includes 1 raffle ticket and R25 for any additional ticket in their household. We will not deem this as to extended family members as we have done in the past.
