One last hoorah for Hazard in the Europa League Cup Final Tonight

Chelsea hopes to end their season with a win against arch-rivals Arsenal tonight in the Europa League final in Baku and with it another European trophy. Chelsea is the only club in London who has won the Champions League and Europa League trophies in 2012 and 2013 respectively.

But preparations for tonight’s match has been in tatters with injuries to key players such as Kante, Loftus-Cheek, Hudson-Odoi and last night’s spectacular outburst between Higuain and Luiz. Maurizio Sarri stormed off the field last night kicking his cap after he apparently was frustrated with the team not being able to practice set pieces. His outburst followed the clash between Luiz and Higuain and after he indicated in a press conference earlier in the day that the team was gelling and happy.

Chelsea who do not face any pressure to win to be in the Champions League next season as their rivals seem to become unravelled before the match. Will Chelsea give Eden Hazard a trophy he deserves and end his time at Chelsea on a high or will Arsenal’s potent attack destroy us? Which Chelsea team will be on the pitch tonight and in what frame of mind?

We know the answer to this…we have been here before in a major European final. We have overcome serious obstacles in the past and tonight’s match is no different. We are up against a manager who has won this competition three times with Sevilla. Sarri stands a chance to win his first major trophy ever. Who will be brave tonight in their team selections? Who will spur on their team to win? Will Hazard give us another dazzling performance one last time? Will Giroud score against his old team and will Higuain repay the faith Sarri has put in him tonight?

All will be revealed later today – we trust wherever you watching the final tonight it is with your fellow Chelsea supporters spurring on our team.

The Hazard show at the Bridge

09 Apr 2019 | Posted by: admin | Categories: news

We huffed and puffed and let us be honest, some of us thought here we go again we have all the possession of the ball yet we can’t score, up popped the little maestro from Belgium, Eden Hazard with a sublime slalom-like move down the middle of West Ham’s half to score what could probably be the goal of the season.

comrade Hazard

Is there anything he can’t do? Hazard was simply majestic last night, not just the two goals he scored, but his movement with and off the ball was world-class. No wonder Madrid is knocking for ‘real’ on his door! Last night was another impressive win for Chelsea against East-London neighbours – three wins on the bounce and up to third on the log. Another encouraging sign Sarri is finally seeing what we have been seeing all season, bring on the youngsters, Hudson-Odoi and Loftus-Cheek started another match and the ever-energetic Emerson. If the FIFA ban will kick in this summer, then the future might not look so bleak as a host of loanees are putting their hands up.

Chelsea’s next match is against our favourite opponent up north, Liverpool at Anfield. Will we do it again to them, remember Demba Ba pouncing on a fumble from enigmatic Gerrard to score and effectively end Liverpool’s charge to the title. Will Sarri’s team have it in them to beat Liverpool on Sunday? Can we match their movement, their drive and their defensive play? Will Hazard be our catalyst once again? Will Higuain break his goal drought?

Chelsea visits West Ham tonight

06 Mar 2017 | Posted by: admin | Categories: news

Chelsea has one goal in mind tonight and that is to win and collect three points. Antonio Conte expects that West Ham will be tough opponents tonight similarly to that of Burnley a fortnight ago. It is effectively the run-in to the title and almost all our opponents for the title wishes that West Ham does the unthinkable tonight.

Conte conte 2 conte 3

In a reminder to this team, Conte reiterated that losing is not an option. Remaining focused and taking one game at a time is the mantra he is preaching from reports emanating out of London. Conte continued that the focus for this season was to end in the top four and qualify for the Champions League. That is indeed what we are achieving but to win the title Chelsea needs to concentrate and play to their potential. The title is beckoning, it is within reach and with it, a chasing pack of five teams with the nearest being Spurs before tonight’s game, we are 7 points ahead.

In recent head to head games against West Ham, we have won six games in the Premier League since April 2011, drawing twice and losing twice. The last league loss against the Hammers (2-1) happened on 24 October 2015 at Upton Park or Boleyn Ground as they called it. Chelsea also lost on 26 October 2016 in the League Cup match 1-2.

An injury scare late last week caused concerns for Hazard but it seems he has recovered in time to play. Eden Hazard on fire is exactly what is needed tonight against a resurgent West Ham tonight at the London Stadium.

It is also expected that Moses and Alonso will continue their fine form tonight running down the flanks to help with attacks but also to defend. Moses signed an extension to his current contract as a reward for his fine form this season.
