The eagles swoop in at the Bridge

Chelsea welcomes south London visitors Crystal Palace to the Bridge today in what would be a prime game for former Blues skipper Gary Cahill, his first visit as an opposing player since he left for free in the Summer. At Chelsea, Cahill won everything as a player under different managers and he has already become a fan favourite at Selhurst Park.

However, he and the rest of his team will have to contend with high flying Chelsea who is eight points ahead of them and will have a chance to go 2nd or 3rd for 24 hours before Man City and Liverpool play. Chelsea will have their tails having come back from 1-4 down against Ajax in midweek to end the match 4-4. It is clear thatĀ Frank Lampard’s influence on this team is growing by the match.

As a Chelsea player, Lampard has won everything and now he has already bagged a Manager of the Month Award for October by winning several games and playing an attractive brand of football. He would probably have called on Cahill if he stayed at the Bridge given his injury list to his defenders.

Kick is 2:30 pm (CAT).

Enjoy the match.
